Treehouse Opens Its Doors: Affordable Senior Housing in St. Paul
Trellis is proud to announce the opening of Treehouse, a new affordable housing community for seniors, located at 2319 W Highland Parkway in St. Paul. Designed with accessibility and inclusivity in mind, Treehouse offers low-income seniors a welcoming place to call home.
Treehouse provides 36 apartments tailored to meet the needs of seniors. Offering a mix of efficiency and one-bedroom units, Treehouse ensures accessibility for renters with incomes ranging from 30% to 50% of the area median income (AMI). Seven units are reserved specifically for seniors transitioning out of homelessness, reinforcing Treehouse’s commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community.
Located at 2319 Highland Way in St. Paul’s Highland Park neighborhood, Treehouse is a supportive community designed to foster well-being and connection among its residents. By providing quality homes in an inclusive setting, Treehouse reflects Trellis’ dedication to creating and managing dignified living spaces that enrich lives.

Treehouse’s success is the result of collaboration among key partners. LHB Architects designed the project creating a community that not only meets the specific needs of senior residents but also integrates with the surrounding landscape. Frana Companies’ expertise in multifamily construction brought the vision to life. Catholic Charities will provide supportive services to the formerly homeless senior residents. Trellis will oversee leasing and daily operations to provide exceptional service and care. The City of St. Paul, Ramsey County, Bridgewater Bank, and the National Equity Fund provided capital funding for the development.
Treehouse welcomed its first residents in November 2024, marking an important step for affordable senior housing in St. Paul and quickly achieved full occupancy.
